Merle Earnheardt Obituary

Merle Rahlie Earnheardt, 62, of Tarentum, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2010, in Alle-Kiski Medical Center, Natrona Heights. He was born Jan. 27, 1948, in San Francisco, Calif., the son of the late Rahlie Lee and Mildred Miller Earnheardt. Merle was a Vietnam War veteran serving in the Army as a medic in the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ). He retired after 25 years of service from Allegheny Ludlum Steel, in Brackenridge, where he worked in the hot strip mill. Merle attended Dayspring Christian Center in Brackenridge. He enjoyed reading, was a history buff and loved The Beatles. Merle is survived by his wife of 40 years, Grace Elizabeth Greiner Earnheardt; sons, Adam C. (Mary Beth) Earnheardt, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Jeremy T. (Lori) Earnheardt, of Marienville; daughter, Jennifer A. (Karl) Greenwood, of Natrona Heights; four grandchildren, Jordan Michael, Ella Grace, Katherine Elizabeth and Sadie Jane Earnheardt; and three stepgrandchildren, Sophie Greenwood and Ethan and Hope Byers. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the CICHOLSKI-ZIDEK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1522 Carlisle St., Natrona Heights, 724-224-8688, where funeral ceremonies will be held at noon Tuesday.
