Norman Stout Obituary

Norman D. "Norm" Stout Sr., 87, of Seward, formerly of Latrobe, passed away peacefully Friday, Nov. 7, 2025. He was born June 6, 1938, a son of the late Carl and Cleona Stout. In addition to his parents, Norm was preceded in death by his sister, LaVida Blauser; and his brother, Carl W. Stout. Surviving are his four children; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. In his younger days, he was employed as a police officer and firearms instructor for the FBI in Kettering, OH. Later in life, he was owner of AA Septic Tank Service for many years, and from there, he was owner/proprietor of Stahls Store in Latrobe. Other ventures include store security for several department stores and working for the U.S. Census Bureau, and he was State Constable Elect. Norm was also the zoning officer for New Stanton Borough for several years and a member of the New Stanton Planning Commission. His passions were many. He was an avid trapshooter for many years, in which he acquired the nickname "Stormin' Norman." Hunting would be next in line, where he was proficient in processing and preparing wild game. He also enjoyed fishing, playing golf, shooting pool, and watching football, and last but not least, he learned how to play pickleball. He also had a love for canning and baking and was well known for his homemade donuts, jelly rolls, and apple dumplings. He was always willing to share his knowledge with anyone who would listen. He will be remembered by his wisdom, quick wit, and love and devotion to those he loved. In accordance with Norman's wishes, there will be no public service or memorial. Those who wish to honor his memory are encouraged to do so privately, such as by making a donation to a charity in his name.
