Born Oct. 16, 1919, in North Apollo, he lived there most of his life. A World War II veteran, he served with the Army Air Corps. Mr. Speer was a millwright at Woodings Tool Works, Verona, until retiring in 1981. He was a member of Kiski Township Sportsman's Club, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also raised beagle puppies. Survivors include a son, Ted R. Speer of Vandergrift; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Irene Skinner of Canton, Ohio, and Mary L. Parks of Vandergrift. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Aaron Speer; a daughter, Jane M. McMun; his parents, Myron W. and Marie St. Clair Speer; and two brothers, William M. and Clifford Speer. Private services will be at the convenience of the family in CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME INC., 100 Owens View Drive, Apollo. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo.
