Richard D. Fitzgerald

Richard Dean Fitzgerald, 67, of Vandergrift, passed away Friday, Nov. 5, 2021, in the Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville. Born Sept. 16, 1954, in Natrona Heights, he was the son of the late Leland and Betty Jane Richey Fitzgerald. Rick had been employed in the past at Wean United in Vandergrift and at the Volkswagen Plant in New Stanton. He was a member of the Vandergrift Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and the Vandergrift Fireman's Club. Rick was an avid bird lover and enjoyed working with his brother Dave at Dave's Appliance. Survivors include his daughter, Elizabeth Anne Bronson, of Ford City; two sons, Richard Dean Fitzgerald Jr., of Ford City and Chad Fitzgerald, of Arnold; four brothers, Duane (Toni) Fitzgerald, of Vandergrift., John and Paul Fitzgerald, both of South Carolina and Dave and Nancy Fitzgerald, of Vandergrift; along with several grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Fitzgerald; and a sister, Cynthia Ann Fitzgerald. At the request of the family, all services were private. Interment was in the Riverview Cemetery, Apollo. Arrangements have been entrusted to the DUNMIRE-KERR & ROWE FUNERAL HOME INC., 244 Franklin Ave., Vandergrift.
