Richard J. "Dick" Z abrosky, 89, of Allegheny Township, passed away Friday, Nov 26, 2021, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born Nov. 9, 1932, in Cambria County, he was a son of the late Walter Zabrosky and Rose (Rakovan) Zabrosky. Dick was a 1950 graduate of Ebensburg High School and attended Williamsport Technical Institute. He proudly served our country with the Army during the Korean War. Dick worked as a journeyman tool and die maker and was then employed as a department leadman for Oberg Industries in Freeport for 30 years, retiring in 1995.He was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church. Dick was an avid fisherman and hunter and was devoted to and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Andy Aker Jr.; and his brother, Walter Zabrosky Jr. Dick is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Carolyn (Sabo) Zabrosky; children, Cynthia Z. Aker, of Sicklerville, N.J., Connie M. (Scott) Lesh, of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., Richard J. (Marsha) Zabrosky Jr., of Greensburg and David J. (Natalie) Zabrosky, of Vandergrift; grandchildren, Andrew III, Christine, Ryan (Emily), Brent and Tyler; brother, Edward (Janet) Zabrosky, of Loretto; sister, Cecelia (Joe) Presloid, of Punxsutawney; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021, in the CURRAN-SHAFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY INC., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo. Additional visitation will take place from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2021,followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. James Roman Catholic Church, Apollo, with Father John Euker as celebrant. Inurnment will follow in Greenwood Memorial Park, Lower Burrell, with military honors accorded by the Vandergrift Veterans Honor Guard.
