Robert D. Venturini

1953 - 2018

Robert D. Venturini, 65, of Gilpin Township, passed away Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, in his residence. A son of the late Robert J. Venturini and Marlene (Sappe) Venturini, he was born Sept. 20, 1953, in Natrona Heights. Robert was a 1971 graduate of Leechburg High School. For 33 years, he was employed as a steel roller by Allegheny Ludlum in West Leechburg and Vandergrift until his retirement in 2008. He was a member of Christ the King Parish in Gilpin Township. Robert was an avid gardener who enjoyed hunting and woodworking. Survivors include his mother, of Leechburg; his three sons, Brian D. Venturini (Traci), of West Leechburg, Matthew R. Venturini (Ronnie), of Parks Township, and Jeremy D. Venturini (Stacy), of Butler; three grandchildren, Auvi Aunna, Emily and Madison P. Venturini; three brothers, Rodney Venturini (Elaine), of West Leechburg, David Venturini (Jeanne), of Apollo, and Daniel J. Venturini Sr., of Leechburg; a sister, Tina Rapacchietta (David), of Leechburg; and two nephews and a niece, Daniel J. Venturini Jr., of Spring Church, Vincent Rapacchietta, of Leechburg, and Olivia Rapacchietta of Leechburg. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie R. (Richards) Venturini, in November 2012.
Friends welcomed by his family from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2018, at CLAWSON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CENTER, 170 Main St., Leechburg, 724-842-1051. Parting prayers of transfer will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 125 Park Road, Gilpin Township, with the Rev. James H. Loew, O.S.B. officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Park, 104 Melwood Road, Gilpin Township.
