Sandra L. Rudert

1948 - 2023

Sandra L. Rudert, 74, of Sarver, Buffalo Township, Butler County, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2023, in her home with her family by her side. She was born Dec. 15, 1948, in Natrona Heights, Harrison Township, to the late Roy Howard and Mary Jane (Gamble) Cook. Sandra was a nurse at the Veterans Administration-Highland Drive for 29 years, prior to her retirement in 2013. At the VA, she worked within Centers for the Treatment of Addictive Disorders, where she received the Cameos For Caring Award. She was a member of the Buffalo Presbyterian Church, Buffalo Township. Sandra leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband of 40 years, whom she married March 5, 1983, William A. Rudert, of Buffalo Township; her son, Eric M. Schumaker, of Allegheny Township; her brother, Roy A. Cook, of Tionesta; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents mentioned above. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2023, in the DENNIS J. DAUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, 324 Fourth St., Freeport, 724-295-3100, where funeral and committal ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2023. Pastor Robin D. Swinsburg will officiate. Private burial will follow in the Brookland Cemetery, Allegheny Township.
