The Honorable David Regoli Obituary

The Honorable David A. Regoli, Esq. passed away unexpectedly Thursday, Dec 9, 2021, from complications following a routine cardiac procedure. Mr. Regoli, 56, was well-known and widely respected in the legal community both in Westmoreland and Allegheny Counties. In 2014, he was appointed by Gov. Tom Corbett to serve as judge on the Westmoreland County Court of Common Pleas. He also served as a Lower Burrell Councilman, having acquired a taste for politics from his father, former Westmoreland County congressman and state senator, John Regoli Sr. David served several municipalities, including Westmoreland County, as solicitor. After leaving the bench, David reestablished his private law practice in New Kensington, not far from where he was born and raised. He was known for his intense determination, integrity and energy representing his clients from all social, cultural, ethnic and religious backgrounds, regardless of their ability to afford his services. He was committed to representing his clients with an unyielding tenacity, balanced with a keen, inherent and sophisticated understanding of the law. These qualities allowed him to be remarkably successful on behalf of his clients. He was a proud alumnus of Arizona State University and Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law. David was a devoted husband, father, son and brother. He was married to his wife, Anna Marie Iannuzzi Regoli, for 28 years, and they shared a life filled with love, raising their two children. Antonio, 23, is following in his father's footsteps as a graduate of Arizona State University, and is now a first-year law student at Ohio Northern University Pettit College of Law. Isabella, 18, is a first-year student at Penn State University. David was a pillar of strength and joy amongst his family and friends. He had the unique ability to treat everyone he met with kindness, humor and warmth, as if they were his own family. Those who knew him will remember how his joy and laughter would light up a room. He was the life of every party, with countless stories and engaging conversations. David deeply valued his family and his family traditions. Sunday "family dinners" at the Regoli house were a passion in his life. He hosted family and friends alike to enjoy pasta and homemade sauce or to gather around his famous pizza oven. He was passionate, fearless and always pushed himself to continue old traditions and create new ones. David's mother, Dolly Regoli, described David as the "glue that held the family together." This was especially evident during two family tragedies, in which she lost her oldest son, John Regoli Jr., to brain cancer, and her daughter, Sharon Regoli Ciferno, to a tragic accident. David was the last surviving of John and Dolly's three children. Anna and her children, faced with immense grief, are determined to carry on and make David proud. They are fortunate to have the overwhelming love and support from all of those who were blessed to have known David. This devoted network of support is a tribute to David's legacy in the community. In addition to his wife, children and parents, he is survived by his sisters-in-law, Licia Iannuzzi (Salvatore Vaghetto) and Marla Regoli (late John Regoli Jr.); and brother-in-law, John Ciferno (late Sharon Regoli Ciferno); nieces and nephews, Christina Wilson (William Wilson), Nico Regoli, Gianna Regoli, John Joseph Ciferno and Alexis Ciferno; and numerous cousins and loyal friends. He will be forever missed. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the GIUNTA-BERTUCCI FUNERAL HOME INC., 1509 Fifth Ave., Arnold, JohnPaul Bertucci, owner/supervisor. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Mt. St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 100 Freeport Road, New Kensington, PA 15068. Everyone attending the Mass, please go directly to the church. Burial will be private. Due to CDC guidelines, the wearing of masks is encouraged. The family requests instead of flowers, that all donations be made directly to the family for a memorial fund.
