ALLEN DANIELS

Allen O. Daniels Al, age 86, went home to his Lord and Savior on October 15, 2012, surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong member of Parkland Lutheran Church, where he held many positions of leadership. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School and attended Bethany Lutheran College. Al served 2 years in the Navy during WWII before graduating from Washington State College with an electrical engineering degree. Al spent his career at Tacoma City Light, retiring in 1982 as Power Supply Supervisor. He was preceded in death by his wife Ann and brother Rick. He is survived by Susan, wife of 36 years, son Mike (Lori), and daughters Jodi (Dan) Carr and Diane (Mark) Brown. Al and Sue are blessed with 8 grandchildren: Ashley and Tyler Daniels, Aaron (Emma) and Emily Carr, Courtney (Matt Davis), Carol, Michael, and Patrick Allen Brown; in-laws Margaret and Bill Stover, brother-in-law Scott (Carol) Stover, several nieces and nephews, and other extended family. Al had a wonderful tenor voice. He starred in Lincoln High School musicals, sang in Orpheus Club, the church choir, and was a soloist at many weddings and funerals. He enjoyed bowling, camping, dancing, golfing, playing cribbage and cards, reading, and working out at the YMCA cardiac class for 25 years. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 27, 2012, at Parkland Lutheran Church, 120 123rd St. S., Tacoma, WA 98444. A private burial will be held prior to the memorial. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. John Smoots and his staff for their excellent medical treatment, and to the staff at Clare Bridge Alzheimer's facility in Puyallup for their tender loving care during his final months.
