ARLINE ELERDING

1928 - 2017

Arline (Stickel) Elerding June 16, 1928- October 30, 2017 Arline Elerding entered into eternal peace on October 30, 2017, at the age of 89, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her children. Arline is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Frieze, son, Donald Frieze, mother and father, Lena and Emil Stickel, four brothers, one sister and her loving companion Elwyn Elerding. She is survived by her children, Doug Frieze (Kathie), Dennis Frieze, and Deanna Frieze, grandchildren, Don Frieze, Ashleigh Rossman (Jon), and Chelsie Frieze, great grandchildren, Kinsley and Cole Rossman, one sister, Delores Boss (Keith), and many nieces and nephews. Arline was born and raised in Yakima, Washington, graduating from Moxee High School with a class size of 7 students. After high school, she and Ray were married and had four children. They moved to Tacoma, Washington in 1967, where they owned and operated a small grocery store in the north end of Tacoma. Arline held many jobs over the years, retiring as office manager of Lynden Chicken Farms. Arline enjoyed the simple pleasures. She enjoyed family most of all, especially her annual family reunions. She loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren who adoringly knew her has "grandma AJ". She loved bingo with her buddies on Thursdays. She loved travelling with friends and relatives. She loved her church, Zion Lutheran, of which she had been a member for fifty years. A memorial service will be held to celebrate Arline's life on Saturday, November 18, at 11:00 am at Zion Lutheran Church, 3410 6th Ave., Tacoma, WA.
