Bryan Gorder Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of Bryan James Gorder announces his passing on August 27, 2025. Surrounded by his loving family, at 49 years of age, Bryan passed away peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital in Boise, Idaho. His family, friends, and all who knew him will forever feel the void and light that has been lost from their lives and this world.

Bryan was born on February 23, 1976, in Tacoma, Washington, the son of Anton (Andy) Roy Gorder and Sheila Ann Gorder (Hoffman). Bryan attended Bellarmine Preparatory School and graduated in 1994. He attended college in Bellingham and furthered his education in Tacoma, receiving a Civil Engineering degree from Bates College and further studying computer engineering at City University.

Bryan will be remembered best as a generous soul. Proud father, husband, son, grandson, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many, it is hard to describe him to those who never knew him. Bryan was Bryan-unique, giving, talented, brilliant, and he loved his family more than anything. His quick-witted humor and desire to make people laugh and be happy defined him. He had an incredible talent for giving the most meaningful gifts and planning experiences- down to the smallest details- in his memorable 'itineraries'.

Bryan had many talents and an incredible mind. One of Bryan's passions stemmed from his deep connection to music. He was a remarkable bass player and greatly enjoyed playing in bands and the connections he made with his bandmates over the years. A tech guru, Disney enthusiast, and sports buff, Bryan was the go-to person that many family and friends relied on for help and guidance.

He is survived by his two daughters, Robyn and Ariel Gorder; former wives Leah Strayer and Nicole Gorder; parents Anton (Andy) and Sheila Gorder; two brothers, Steven (Rebecca) Gorder and Andrew (Debbie) Gorder; Aunt/Godmother Patsy Hoffman; aunts L.G. Brooks, Margie Hoffman and Kim Schult; uncle George Gorder; dog Pudd'n, and many extended family members and caring friends, each of whom made a difference in his life and whom he dearly loved. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucy and Steve Gorder, and George and Margaret Hoffman, and by his uncle/godfather Tim Hoffman.

He will be missed beyond words.

The sadness knowing you are no longer here for your family is devastating. Im so sorry
for all of them.
I will never hear ZZ Top and not remember us fan girling over them. Or talking about art.
You were such a tremendously talented man. Its not fair you're not here to share your light with the world.

Sincere condolences to everyone who loved Bryan. He was a good friend to many and we've all had a lot of laughs over the years. On a personal level, I consider myself blessed for having recorded music with him. His talent was as immense as his personality and he will be dearly missed.

I shared a clip of 80's music that came through my feed today on IG along with the following message:

Reeling over the news. I just learned today. I'll leave a proper remembrance on the Legacy page after some thought but all I really wanted, was to actually share this with you when it came across my feed. Thank you for the unexpected, thoughtful, funny, kind messages over the years. I'm sorry I never made it out to see you play. Peace and love, dear Bryan.

Also- to Shiela, Andy, Leah, Goblin and the entire family.... I'm just so sorry for this tremendous loss. My thoughts and heart are with you as you all navigate through this challenging time. Peace and love always,
Trish Rose
