Gig Harbor, Washington - Carol Ann Zech, age 90, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 27, 2025. Born on December 24, 1934, in Yakima, Washington to Larry and Ura Longevin. Carol lived a life filled with love, faith, and unwavering devotion to the people around her. She was preceded in passing by her husband Don and her sister Lynn.

She is survived by her two beloved sisters, Cecil and Leslie, six children, Don, Tim, Mike, Steve, Caron and Linda, 27 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren. Carol aged with grace and beauty, radiating warmth, wisdom, and a deep inner peace. Her presence was a blessing to all who knew her. Rooted in a sincere and personal love for Jesus her heartfelt commitment to love God and love others defined her life. She began each morning in prayer for her loved ones, wrote countless letters of encouragement, led women's groups in faith and fellowship, and always offered support and compassionate listening to anyone in need, right up until the very end. She had a passion for writing, a love of cowboy and pioneer stories, a fondness for flowers, and a heart that was fullest when surrounded by the people she loved. Carol especially treasured hosting family gatherings at her beloved home on the Hood Canal, and she took great joy in organizing family reunions that brought generations together. An avid hiker, she found beauty and peace on the trails of both Washington and Arizona. Carol also leaves behind a cherished community of friends in Chandler, Arizona where her presence will be deeply missed. As the strong and gentle matriarch of her family, Carol's legacy of love, faithfulness, and encouragement will live on through her children, grandchildren, and all whose lives she touched. Her family and friends rejoice in the knowledge that she is now at peace, reunited with her Savior, and surrounded by the eternal love she so freely gave on earth.
