Christina Benson Obituary

Christina Marie Benson passed away peacefully on November 11, 2025. Christina was 81 years young and is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Tresa and Richard Myers; her grandchildren, Dina and Calvin Talley, Lauren and Matt Scofield, and Aaron Brown; and her great-grandchildren, Finn and Maisie Scofield. She is also survived by her nephew and niece, David and Katie Zimmerman, and Karen and Joel Epstein.

Those who preceded Christina in death were her parents, Robert and Marjorie Benson, and her sister and brother-in-law, Bernice and Darrell Zimmerman.

Christina was born in Tacoma, Washington, on June 18, 1944. She attended Wilson High School and later in life became a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University. Of the many careers and volunteer opportunities Christina pursued, her final career as a hospice social worker brought together all of her passions and gifts: her faith, her ability to build community, and her dedication to helping those in need. Christina was known for her warm spirit, her infectious laugh, and the joy she found in being "Nannie" to her grandchildren.

After retirement, Christina moved to the Lynnwood area to be closer to her family, where she enjoyed many family gatherings and concerts, and just recently a trip to the tulip fields-something she had always wanted to do.

When remembering Christina, please donate to your favorite charity, listen to an Elvis song, and/or indulge in something chocolate in her honor.

A celebration of life will be held in Christina's memory later in the spring.
