CRAIG THOMSON

Craig Allen Thomson 15 September 1956 - 11 August 2015 Craig was born in Weston, Ontario, Canada, near Toronto, where he spent his early childhood. The family moved to Claremont, California in 1959, where he attended local schools. In the late 60's he was in a Hollywood casting call to play Marcia Brady's date on an episode of "The Brady Bunch." In 1971 the family relocated to Tacoma, Washington, where he attended Wilson and Stadium High Schools. Shortly after high school, Craig graduated from technical school as an Engineering Draftsman, and was employed as such by several local firms. Later he specialized in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) and worked for several local firms in Tacoma, Bremerton, and South Center. Craig also had a sideline as a professional photographer, where he was hired by models and venues on a regular basis. He was well-liked in the photography community, and the outpouring of sympathy and support from former models and photographers has been appreciated by his surviving family. Some of his work can be seen at www.modelmayhem.com. Craig had several strokes over the last few years, but continued working after recovery. However, his most recent attacks became too much for him to continue working, and eventually ended his life. He is survived by his three sons, Nicklaus Kirkham, Christopher Gavett, and Robert Adam Thomson, and by two daughters, Lindsey Thomson and Kaylee Graham. He is also survived by his father Robert J. Thomson, his older brother Paul Thomson, and his sister Jan Ellen Thomson, all of Tacoma, and by his younger brother Kevo Thomson of London, England. Craig was predeceased by his bother David Thomson of Tacoma, and his sister Karen Empringham of Milford, Ontario, Canada. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Craig's life will be held on Sunday, August 23rd, from 1pm until 5pm at the family home at 1808 Lenore Drive N, in Tacoma's West End near the corner of 17th and Skyline Drive (not far from the Tacoma Narrows Bridge). All his friends and acquaintances will be welcome and are invited to attend.
