Oh Don. you were one of the best men I have ever met in my life and probably ever will. You taught me how to fry an egg and everything else a young girl at my age needed to know. You taught me self-respect self-esteem and taught me life skills that I will truly apply for the rest of my life. You were closer to me than my own grandfather and you were a man of True Values. The way you loved your wife was like something out of a movie. You were a hard-working very devoted man. I will forever miss you and cherish all of your talks of advice to me and your jokes. I will miss your military stories and your funny sense of humor. I am so sorry I wasn't there with you when you passed. I find comfort in knowing I saw you just a couple months before that. I called Pioneer Place tonight to talk to you in apologize for not being able to drive out there like we do every Halloween and see you so my son can trick or treat with you. We did it every year. Instead of hearing your voice I got the devastating news .Thank you for loving me when you didn't have too. Goodbye Don. Fly free with Clara give her a kiss on the cheek for me. Tell lois I say hello! Until we meet again don.....

Dan- we are never ready to lose a parent. Uncle Don loved you and was so very proud of you. The stories that he and Daddy told will live on in us. The world is a little less without him. Love & hugs to you & yours

Uncle Don, you were loved. Thank you for being there for me in my young adulthood. You were like a second father to me.
