Delma Mattich Obituary

Delma Mattich Delma Mattich was born in August of 1933 and went to be with the Lord in March 2020. Born to Peter and Mary Sestan, Delma lived on the Fife 2 acre homestead for 85 years, prior to moving to Bonney Lake in October of 2018. After graduating from Fife H.S., two years later she married her husband of 65 years Robert Mattich. A loving wife and mother of 2 boys, she enjoyed teaching art, ceramics, created glass art, and was a gifted musician. In 1976, she started her small business "Gifts By Delma." For nearly 20 years, she sold her own line of beautiful ceramic sea gulls in Washington, Oregon, and California. Delma was a gourmet cook and loved to entertain family and friends. She participated in organizing annual Croatian Festivals for many years in Tacoma, and loved to spend time at their Maury Island cabin. She and Bob also enjoyed vacationing during winter months in Maui, Hi. and Green Valley, Az. Delma is survived by her husband Bob, and sons Peter (Joan) and Michael (Carol). She had 4 grand children and 2 great grand children. Due to public health concerns, a celebration of her life will take place at a later date.

I grew up, from 12 years old when I started , until I was 18 years old. Playing in Delma's son's band "The Variations".
I spent many days rehearsing at their house in Fife. Followed by many marvelous dinners ( She was a great cook! ) as a guest at the family dinner table. I also was fortunate to have had the opportunity to spend quite a bit of time at The extended Mattich Family compound on Vashon Island.
I Loved Delma, and her Family, as you may imagine.
I love them very much

I grew up living across the field from Delma and Bob. Wonderful people and so dearly loved by all of us. Found her cookbook she gifted me back in 2012, and after finding she passed, I’m so grateful to have her recipes and the memories. I haven’t seen her since my Dad’s funeral but I’m so grateful that she came and was always there for my family. Rest in love Delma. You will be dearly missed.

I grew up right across the street from Delma and her husband Bob. One couldn't ask for better neighbors than the Mattich's. Delma will always be remembered as the kindest, most caring, and friendliest person one could ever know. May she find peace with her departed Sestan clan.

I am Kathy, Chuck Thomas' daughter and I remember Delma from Maui, and from her visits to Harstene Island to visit my Dad and Evie. I liked her so much and she was always so full of energy.
