Dowell Thorn Obituary

Dowell Davis Thorn III Randy Randy was born on Feb. 22, 1987 to Dowell Thorn and Tiffani Robinson. Randy leaves behind his common-law wife Vanessa Roberts and their beautiful daughter Jaya Janelle-Nicole Thorn, brothers and best friends Michael Chelly, Kerry Edwards, Donovan Jackson, Andrew Berry, Deontae' Jackson, and his sister/daughter Dannielle Robinson. Randy will be greatly missed by all of his loved ones and friends. Viewing will be held at the House of Scott on October 5, 2007 from 3pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be October 6, 2007 at St. John Baptist Church at 2pm. Donations to the family will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

As I sit here and think about the pain that this Family has endured from two significantly tragic losses, I pray that our Father will bestow care, comfort, and compassion upon this Family. I remember when my Brother (Kenny) called me in Jan of 91 and told me that our Cousin, Dowell was no longer with us and Derrick Williams was paralyzed. I knew in my heart that our Family lost a great young Man. Dowell would do anything for anybody and bring a smile to anyone’s face because of his genuine charisma. 20 years later my Brother calls me again and informs me that Dowell’s Son (Randy) is no longer with us. Randy, I know in my Heart that the Lord has reunited you with your Loving Father, as you embrace him please ask him to assist you in guarding and protecting the remainder of our Family. Family, it will be the little things that you will remember, the significant moments, the smiles, the laughter. Though I did not know you for very long you made such an impression to me. In this day and age it was so refreshing to cross paths with such a respectful, mild mannered young man! I remember me and your cousin Moe would see you and Michael going to work every morning and I would remark I wish Elessea (my daughter) would find a gentleman like him. The last time I saw you, you had brought your beautiful daughter over for us to see and I said "good job" to you, the look of pride on your handsome face is what I keep seeing in my mind over and over again. Randy RIP and know that while you were here you touched lives that you may not have even realized! I hope that you are with your dad, and that now you can become your baby's guardian angel and guide her through life, you will be greatly missed!

This is all crazy. I remember when you were little kid, running around with that little patch of hair in the front as a kid,then you were a teenager, then a man. I will miss you little cousin, but I guess yoou couldnt wait to see the man everyone said you looked like, DOWELL, have fun and tell yo dad not to try wrestling moves on you, well your big enough now to where it wont hurt.
