Roy, Washington - Dulcie Annie Joy passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025 under the loving care of Lois Schaefer of Puyallup, husband Ronnie D. Joy, son Steven R. Barry, and grandsons Cody and Garrett Burlew and Levi Wilms and granddaughter Cinnamon Smith. She was born in McComb, Mississippi, on October 7, 1943. As the daughter of a career military father, she lived in Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, and Germany with her three brothers, Bruce, Richard (deceased), and James. She had moved away by the time her brother Glenn was born. She completed high school in the American school system in Germany, then attended college in Alabama. She married James C. Barry and followed him as a military wife for many years. They settled in Washington where she worked at Challenger Secondary Schools for the Bethel School District as the Registrar for 25 years. She liked going to garage sales and rock collecting. She was also in a drum group. She is preceded in death by her father, Willie B. Pickette, Mother Dulcie Lorene King, first husband James, daughter Alice Barry Burlew Story, and brother Richard B. Pickette. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Ronnie, son Steven, three brothers Bruce, Jim and Glenn, and four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was a loving and selfless woman, mother, and grandmother and she will be missed and always remembered.
