Eileen Rouse Obituary

Eileen Rouse "Mammy" Jan. 21, 1939 - Feb. 13, 2009 Born Eileen Carroll McIntosh in Kenmare, ND to Myrtle and Robert. She moved to Tacoma with her mother at the age of 9. She worked as a Candy Striper at Tacoma General and was a member of the Lincoln Rail Splitters roller skating team while attending Lincoln High School from which she graduated in 1957. She served in the U.S. Air Force 1957-1959, where she met and married Robert Rouse. Eileen's enthusiasm for life engaged her actively in many interests, many of which involved children, from making toys and sewing clothes, to volunteering as a Brownie troop leader, to working in the church nursery. She was also an avid gardener, scuba diver, photographer, and loved to travel. After many years assisting Robert in his practice, she became a model and actress, appearing in many commercials and area fashion shows. The highlight was her starring role in a film chosen to be shown at the Tokyo Film Festival. She was loved in life and is remembered by husband Robert, mother Myrtle (Burnett), daughters Patricia and Laura (Balbir), son Vince (A-Jay), grandchildren Tenzin, Dalton and Stevie, and the Richholts. Viewing Thursday, February 19th, Noon - 7 p.m. at Powers Funeral Home, 320 West Pioneer Ave, Puyallup 253 845-0536. Dear Rouse family, We are very sorry for the loss of Eileen, she was a great woman. She loved her Children and grandchildren very much. She was always so inviting, my boys enjoyed many hours with Grammy Eileen swimming and many other activities that she would do and invite Logan and Nolan along. She will be greatly missed and leaves a void in our family. God bless each one of you at this time.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. Psalm 34:18
