ELLA HIGGINS Obituary

Ella Colleen Higgins Passed away on July 29th, 2013 in Puyallup, WA. Colleen was born Dec 15th, 1935 in Denver, CO. She was raised in Wyoming before her family moved to Yuma, AZ. She met and married her husband Bill at the age of 17. She received her associate's degree at AWC in Yuma. Colleen and her family moved to Anchorage in 1976. Colleen loved antiques and collectables, which led to opening The Antique & Speciality Mall, which she ran until retiring to Puyallup in 1997. Colleen still kept busy with antiques and collectables through Treasure Mart. Colleen was an avid crossworder and collector of rare and hard to find masks, statues, and dolls. Colleen was preceded in death by her father Max, mother Margaret, and brothers Terry and Michael. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, William Higgins, daughter Laura Higgins, sons Charles and Michael Higgins, and her grandchildren and great grandchildren. No funeral services are planned. The family requests donations to the Salvation Army in Colleen's name.

Our condolences to your loss....So sorry to hear about Colleen's passing. We will miss her at the estate sales, and also setting up next to her at the Portland Expo for years. She was a wonderful person, always smiling and laughing...We always enjoyed visiting with her..Rick and Judy

My thoughts are with her family and friends. Colleen was a gem and always available to suggest, give advice and treated everyone well. I'm sure she saved many treasures from the trash and Anchorage was richer for her having a shop there.
