I was so shocked to hear of Eric's passing. I feel bad that we did not keep in touch after he left Weyerhaeuser. Eric designed a new system for our group. For 6 months or so during monthend a coworker and I would stay till 1:00 or 2:00am and although Eric was under no obligation, he usually stayed with us to be sure we had no problems with his program and to help make changes to the program if it would make our work easier. No matter what I'd ask him to do with the program he'd find a way to make it work. He was a heck of a talented guy with a great sense of humor. He always was willing to go well beyond what was needed. Although we were coworkers we became good friends in a very short time. He had an endless sense of humor which would leave me in stiches even at 2:00am after putting in over a 17hr day without a break. Even when he had to document boring coding, he'd squeeze in a joke or two between the lines. He often talked about playing the piano and buying a new home. I always talked about coming to hear him play and see his place but never did. I feel really bad that I won't get to attend his service today. This is our monthend and I am unable to leave work today. I extend my heartfelt condolences to the family. As others have said Eric did leave an impact on a lot of us and we will truly miss him. May God bless you and give you much peace.

Eric and I shared a dorm room sophomore year at UPS. Eric was my best man at my wedding. Eric was an extremely good friend even allowing me to move in for almost a year while my job took me away from my family. I can attribute at least 20lbs to that year! Eric was a passionate person, passionate about his piano, passionate about his programming. I always enjoyed Eric's sense of humor, his quick wit and easy going attitude. I am very saddened by the sudden loss of my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with Eric's parents and his brother and family during this difficult time.

I will miss Eric so much, he was such a great friend and had the best sense of humor. I worked with Eric at Tuttle/Ignition and played Volleyball with him as well. I loved the funny e-mails and links he always sent to me. I am looking forward to meeting his family tomorrow although I wish under different circumstances. He has an abundance of friends, which is a great honor to how he was raised by his parents.
I hope the family will find peace and comfort in their memories of Eric. He was a unique and wonderful man.

My deepest sympathies to Eric's family. I have not seen Eric in several years. We played VB in Gig Harbor and I enjoyed his talents and good humor. He was always a polite and generous man. I wish his family God's peace.

What an honor and a privilege it was to cross paths with Eric in my career. There are but a few people in my life who have made such an impact on me. Eric was genuine, witty, brilliant and respectful of others. Of the many I've worked with over the years, very few have risen to the level of "friend". Eric will always be in my thoughts and remembrances. Thank you, Eric, for blessing me with your humor, wisdom and friendship and may you be with God in his kingdom. Until we meet again my friend,
Larry

I had the pleasure of teaching and coaching Eric in middle school. He was a wonderful young man then and, though I have lost contact with him for 20 years, it appears that he continued to be a fine young adult and a very loved and respected person.
I find great pleasure in learning that he enjoyed soccer, volleyball and golf. Some of his friends may not realize that he was a CHAMPION free-throw shooter in middle school and a good, solid left-handed shooting guard.
The pain that I suffer in these situations is that as a teacher I feel awful that I have lost touch with so many of my ex-students who I loved and respected. I would love to hear from Mr. and Mrs. Blomberg.....you have my deepest sympathy. It is only by chance that I bought a Tacoma newspaper yesterday.
May God bless you all and help you in your grief and suffering. I was blessed by Eric.

I worked very closely with Eric during his time here at Weyerhaeuser, and still consider him one of the "best-of-the-best" in terms of his technical skills combined with that of a very caring person. I'm very saddened to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this time.

Eric always made those co’ functions so much fun! If this boat is a'rockin then it must be the Tuttle Christmas Party! I did not work w/him but he always made me feel like I was one of the group. He will be missed. May his family and friends grief soon fade on to wonderful memories. In our thoughts - Kary and Piper Cook

Eric was a tremendous person and loyal friend who came from a wonderful family that I know will miss him dearly. Though his life was short he greatly impacted many people in a very positive way. My thoughts and prayers are with his family who were all so supportive of me during my time at the University of Puget Sound.

Eric was a uniquely talented fun guy and a very good friend. A volleyball and soccer teammate, work and golf buddy and great story teller with his own patented style of humour. He left us with a lot of great memories and will be dearly missed.

Eric was a generous, fun and talented guy! I loved playing soccer with him - he always encouraged the ladies! He had a great sense of humor and told so many great stories. I honestly can't believe that he is not with us and I send my prayers to his family. I will miss him!

Eric is a true friend whose quiet demeanor only worked with those he kept at a distance; for those who knew him, Eric had a way of enriching their lives without really even trying. He will be missed but never forgotten.
