FRANK STOWE Obituary

Frank W. Stowe Jr. Passed quietly in the early morning hours of January 2nd, 2017. He was born in Ellensburg on September 20th, 1932, the eldest child of Frank W. Stowe Sr. and Ethel (Wilkins) Stowe. After graduation from Ellensburg High School, he attended Washington State University, earning his bachelor's degree in Dairy Sciences in 1954. Frank married Joanne Arnold that same year and began a 34-year career in the Washington State University County Extension Program. He spent countless hours giving back to his community through 4H, Master Gardeners, and other community programs, earning the Distinguished Service Award. He was a devoted father, spending time hunting and fishing with his son Jeff, and supporting his daughter Karen in her activities. Frank enjoyed an active retirement of over 25 years on Whidbey Island, where he spent his days farming his 70 acres, growing flowers, and caring for his home. Frank and Joanne returned to Puyallup in 2015 to be closer to family. Frank was preceded in death by his son Richard, his brother Jim, and his sister Sally Solie. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joanne, son Jeff (Susan), daughter Karen (Randy) Winkel, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and his sister Arlene Kalanquin. At Frank's request, there will be no services.

I'm so sorry to read of Franks passing. Among many attributes he was such a personable, kind, caring, capable, respectful and respected man. I always enjoyed any time spent with him. He is missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family. God speed.
