Gary Green Obituary

Gary Green
January 19, 1943 - November 22, 2022
Enumclaw, Washington - Enumclaw resident Gary Roy Green passed away November 22, 2022 in Auburn Washington. Gary was born on January 19, 1943 in Seattle, Washington to Lawrence Roy and Lena Linscott Green. During Gary's childhood his father worked for the game department, which required him to be gone several days at a time. While his father was gone Gary would stay with his aunts. Gary's father remarried Mary Owens when he was young, and she helped raise him.
Gary enlisted and served 4 years in the Navy. Before joining the Navy, Gary was a certified welder for Boeing. Gary met Clarine Chipman in 1978 and they were married in 1987. Gary was a wonderful storyteller, he was generous, loved others and helped everyone. You couldn't be sad around Gary, he always made you laugh. There wasn't anything he set his mind to that he couldn't finish. Gary loved his motorcycles, he always had one. He also loved Jeeps and John Deere tractors, owning 3 of each over the years. He had many hobbies, including woodworking, building rolling pins and birdhouses that he would sell or give away to friends. He flew model airplanes and was a member of a flying club. Gary enjoyed gardening with Clarine in their large yard. He was a member of the Flint Tip Archery Club since 1981. Every Fall he would go hunting, sometimes with a traditional bow that he made.
Gary is survived by his wife, Clarine Chipman Green; stepsons, Timothy Shaffer (Cathy) and James Shaffer (Sherry); son, Gary Lawrence Green; grandsons, Adam and Jaymin; and many cousins and friends. Gary was preceded in death by his mother; his father and stepmother; and his infant son Kelly Adrian Green.
Services with military honors will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Washington. A reception will follow at the Enumclaw Seventh-day Adventist Church in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Gary's memory to Providence Hospice or The Parkinson Foundation. Please share a memory of Gary on the tribute wall at www.weeksfuneralhomes.com.
