Howard Pagel Obituary
February 5, 2022 - February 25, 2022
University Place, Washington - Howard Wesley Pagel was born in Tacoma, WA to Herman and Frances Pagel on August 26, 1928, and passed away on February 5, 2022. He is pre-deceased by his oldest sister Genevieve, and is survived by his sister Elaine Osage, who recently celebrated her 100th birthday.
Lorraine Doris Pagel was born in Tacoma, WA to Robert and Dora Carlson on April 3, 1930, and passed away on February 25, 2022. She is pre-deceased by her brother Ernest and sister Ruth Larson, and is survived by her sister Louise Booth.
Howard and Lorraine were lifelong residents of Tacoma, WA and both graduated from Lincoln High School, Howard in 1946 and Lorraine in 1947. They met each other there, the love of their lives. Howard went on to enjoy a long career in sales and retired as a sales manager with Tacoma Screw Products. Lorraine enjoyed her long career in business and retired as an escrow officer with Chicago Title.
Over 72 years of marriage, Howie and Lorraine had 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. As members of Fircrest Golf Club for over 50 years, they enjoyed golfing there and developed many close and lifelong friendships. Howie served on the Board of Directors at Fircrest and was proud to serve as Club President during the construction of the new clubhouse facilities in 1996. In retirement they loved to take cruises, winter in Palm Desert, they enjoyed golf tours to Hawaii and Ireland, and especially loved those many trips to Libby, MT for golf and crazy times with friends from Fircrest. And always, they were content to be home just hanging out with their family, friends, and their beloved kitties.
They leave behind their three children, Susan Perry (Mark), Julie Poe (Gary), and Douglas (Robin), their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A family graveside service followed by a Celebration of Life will be held in the near future. In lieu of flowers, the honor of your donation to The Humane Society for Tacoma and Pierce County in the name of Howard and Lorraine Pagel would be appreciated.
