ISAAC PURCELL Obituary

Isaac Jesse Purcell (AKA: Isaac P, Isaac P Doodle, IPD, P Doodle, The Mighty I, Little Punkin, Ike, Dooberton and mostly just Du) died peacefully in his sleep in the early morning hours of Monday, January 19, 2015. Isaac is survived by his parents Evan and Ellen, his brother Hiatt, many cousins, Aunts, Uncles, his Gramma Sondra, his caregiver Sandy Bowman and many people who provided care for him and support to his family. He was a shining light and he will be forever missed not only by his family but by everyone who got to know him and who helped him over the years. His time here with us was short and, though it was rarely easy, he faced it with a big, beaming smile. Those pieces of our hearts you took? Keep them, sweet boy. May they be enough to surround you in our love and keep you safe wherever this next step takes you. There will be a celebration of Isaac's life on his birthday, Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 3 pm at the Old Town Music Society (2101 North 30th Street, Tacoma WA 98406). Donations may be made in Isaac's memory to The Mary Bridge Children's Foundation (https://waystohelp.multicare.org/mary-bridge-foundation) or to Ashley House (www.ashleyhousekids.org)."

He taught me to enjoy Wiggles and give Barney a second chance. I loved pushing Isaac in his wheel chair; following his sharp eyes/serious face as he looked at changing scenes with intense unflinching eyes finding peace from his inner struggles as the world unfolded around him. His lighting up wen he heard Grampa Don's voice. At a Sea Hawks game -- Isaac loved being a 12th man LIVE! He inspired me to help others in their bodies by giving blood and platelets --words need not be the center of sharing. Isaac, thanks for teaching me how to be a still Uncle. Good night sweet prince.
