My condolences to the family of Mr. Jacksa. He must must have been a man of great tenacity to fight the bureaucracy that makes doing anything with the federal government a real challenge.
I, too, wore a POW-MIA bracelet with the name of LTC Gary Fors USMC, who was MIA in Vietnam and shot down over Laos. I would be grateful to hear if final definitive information is available. His status is currently "Active Search." Sadly , my bracelet broke but I often think of LTC Fors, his family, and now, Mr. Jacka. I also appreciate his own service in the US Navy.

I wore and still have the POW bracelet so many of us wore in the 1960´s, mine is for Capt. Gary Fors 12-22-67. I have often wondered who he was and now thru the invention of computers I have read about him. I have never been able to discard the bracelet as I knew it represented a brave man that served his country for me.
If his family reads this and wants the bracelet please call me I am in royal Oak, Michigan.

Sadly found Mr. Jacka's obituary while searching to reconnect with his oldest daughter Jayne. Vividly recall meeting her on the NE Tacoma Grade School play ground as our Mothers registered us for kindergarten. Jayne was the first childhood friend I made and with whom many treasured memories of childhood days were created.
During a 2018 Spring time lunch a number of us from NE Tacoma Grade School wondered about our friend Jayne. All would be thrilled to have you join us once COVID danger has been cleared. In the mean time, the best to you and your family, Jacqueline Muehlen-Colburn

it's never an easy thing to go through life and watch as the ones you love depart from this earth...but they will surely live on in our hearts and memories...take comfort in having known them...

To all of Jims Children,
I am very sorry for the loss of your Father. Jim was part of that rock that made up and influenced my childhood and young adult years at Ocean Shores. Another Rock has fallen, but the dent it left behind remains.

Condolences to Jane, Jimmy, Monty, Annie, and Mary. It is hard enough to lose one parent, but both in such a short time? My heart is with you all. The best memories I have of my childhood is times with the Jackas at the beach. We had such great adventures, and uncle Jim and auntie Donna would provide such great food at those big crab feeds. ❤❤❤

I first met Jim in 1965 when I was a bar boy at the Cliff House. One of the best mixologists I've ever seen. It was a pleasure knowing him and Bobbie. They visited us in their RV when we lived in Virginia. He always kept me up to date in their search for information on Gary Fors, Bobbie's son who went missing over Laos just before Christmas in 1967. He was a patriot of the first order and will be missed. My condolences to Jim's families, friends and neighbors. From all the officers and members of VFW Post 969, we salute you, Jim.

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face. The rain fall soft upon your fields. And , until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Jane Jim Monte Anne and mary. Everyone of you I consider my brothers and sisters. I'm so sorry for your loss , I miss talking to him on the phone. The last few times I got to bs with him he felll asleep in the middle of our conversation. When he woke up he would call me back and say why did you hang up on me. I love it. I'm gonna try like hell to make the funeral. I love ya all . Kevin
