August 10, 1929 - May 25, 2023
Tacoma, Washington - Tacoma, WA - Janet passed away peacefully after complications following a hip fracture. She was born in Marquette, MI to Carl F. Tauch and Bernice Goodman Tauch. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Jack (Edith, Kathy) Tauch. Janet was married to Robert A. O'Connell, MD for fifty years until his death in 2001. She moved to Tacoma in 1954 where she enjoyed life as a wife, mother, homemaker, avid golfer, and accomplished bridge player.
She is survived by her four children: Mark (Tracy) O'Connell, Tim (Kathy Hudson, Deanne) O'Connell, Kathy (Richard) Smith, Ann (Michael) Vaughn; eight grandchildren: Meghan (Martin) Blaya, Casey (Daniel) Balich, Elisabeth (Bo) Davidson, Thomas (Jacqueline) O'Connell, Patrick O'Connell (deceased), Matthew (Kyle) McRory, Kevin Smith, Alissa (David) Talbot, Robert Vaughn; and eight great-grandchildren: Jolie and Noelle Blaya, Jackson and Ava Balich, Emilia and Jacob Davidson, Bennie O'Connell, Scarlett Talbot.
Mom, your entire family loves you and we will miss you forever. We will always be thankful for the ways you loved us and showed us how to live. Those values will be part of our family forever.
