My Dearest Patricia, Tim & Nancy
I wish to let you know you are in my prayers and thoughts through these tough days ahead. I know that you will be fine, and that the love you and Joel shared will bring you through this. I'm sorry you are having to experience this heartache of life, but knowing you had a great love in your life will make those moments alone more precious to reflect on. May God, Grant Joel the Rest and Peace he loved so much in this life, in his Eternal Home, where you will one day see him again, sailing to great you.
Love, Always

My dear sweet twin, and Elaine, Joe and Samantha... Words can't express the profound sadness and emptiness I feel with Joel leaving us this way. We all loved Joel so dearly. Know that you are loved and warm hugs surround your every breath right now. I will always cherish his meaning in my life, and hope to learn from his presence
...love everyone and everything unconditionally with all your heart, live each moment of your life with a smile ~ and play.
"Morning coffee" with his girls, and ...POTSTICKERS AND BUNDTCAKE WILL never be quite the same - but the memory will make our hearts smile. I love you with all my heart - God Bless You and keep you.

To the Family and Friends of Joel
I am very sorry for your loss. I was a plebe in 4th company (USMMA '81) with Joel and what I remember of him was that he was a great person, well liked and determined. The news of his passing was a shock. My thoughts and prayers are with him.

Dear Patricia, Tim & Nancy,
We can't imagine your pain right now, but here's what we do know. For certain. As you go through the agony of this experience, we hold your hands in love, gently cradle you in our arms of prayer, and fervently wish for God to send you ministering angels today. Right now. You are loved,
In His love,

To Joel's family - Joel and I were plebes together at Kings Point in 4th company in 1977-1978. We had to do a fair amount of pretty, well, unusual things as part of our routine and Joel always had a funny, positive spin on what were doing... he always kept things light. Just a great guy to have on your team. I saw him on his sailboat at Tacoma Tall Ships in July. I was volunteering as Chief on the Virginia V in the parade and he came alongside in his sailboat. He called up looking for me, and we gossiped across the rail and it was a gorgeous, sunny sky with thousands of boats on the water for the parade and Joel was laughing, happy, tan, telling stories - it was just great to see him and catch-up. I'll always remember him as he was that day. My thoughts and prayers are with you.. Connie Buhl
