Judy Tauscher Obituary
February 3, 1940 - January 11, 2025
West Bloomfield Township, Michigan - Judy Tauscher passed away peacefully on January 11, 2025.
Born Judith Ann Wintermute, on February 3, 1940, she was the beloved daughter of Mary and Wayne Wintermute and the oldest of three sisters, Jane Amaral and Nancy Molt.
Judy was raised in Longview, Washington and moved to Tacoma where she attended Stadium High School and met her high school sweetheart, Bruce Tauscher.
Bruce and Judy were married in 1961 and in 1973 decided to escape city life and move their family to a 10 acre farm in Lakebay, Washington to experience a more simple way of life, full of chickens, pigs, Cows, and of course gardening.
Judy became a Christian while attending Lakebay Community Church and led her family into what has become a lifetime of commitment to Jesus Christ.
Judy was deeply involved in her community, contributing to the Lakebay Co-op, Christian Women's Club, Bible Study Fellowship, and being part of church leadership. Judy worked as a substitute and volunteer art teacher around the area while her children were in school.
Judy was a vibrant part of the many communities that she lived in over the years: Lakebay, Fox Island, Tacoma, Port Angles, Bisby Arizona, Key Center, West Bloomfield Michigan and many in between. She was always sure to make new friends, roll up her sleeves and impact the communities she lived in.
Judy was also a prolific and varied artist. Focusing on water colors in her early career, in retirement, Judy embraced many different mediums and styles for painting, decorating and making excellent and funky driftwood sculptures. If nothing else, it can be said that Judy was always a person of vibrant color and style.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Bruce, and their four children: Kerry, Lynn, Jason, and Sarah. She was a devoted mother of four and grandmother to nine, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and community spirit.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 on June 28, 2025 in Believers' Fellowship in Gig Harbor.
