Julian you were my longest online friend.
I met you in 2000/01. We spoke online and on the telephone, even talked with me via webcam. you were trying out a brand new one. I have not seen you online for a long time and something told me that all was not right. I found your obituary. I wish we could have reconnected. You are perhaps one of the dearest people that I have ever known. I will miss you very much. You are with our father now and I know that you are safe from further pain. god bless you Julian. I knew you as Odimanche first and you knew me as Lekili, later we shared our names and life stories. I will miss you.... your Bid Island Hawaii friend..... Leslie Baker

Wai! My name is Velvet (Swan) Solomon, daughter of Theresa (Nespelem, WA) and Jeff Elisoff (Ketchikan, AK).
We were devistated to hear of Julian's passing. He was a dear close friend of my mother's; they were in the Ketchikan Alaska Native dance group together.
I was a little girl when I first met Julian. He was always kind and generous. He had a great sense of humor and a huge grin.
Julian was passionate in his involvement and advocacy within all Native communities he crossed paths with; he will be greatly missed.
On behalf of my family, we send our condolences and prayers to his family.

Lempt-lempt.

Today I got another shock of my life, went to mass at St Leo's and they announced Julian Argel's name in passing. It stunned and shocked me. Julian, Ray Fry and myself, Theresa Swan-Elisoff were the Washington connection of Ketchikan Indian Corporation from 1985 to 1989. He was another brother to me. My husband Jeff says that we don't keep in contact with our friends and we don't. this past year I lost my oldest daughter and my heart hasn't fully recovered from that loss. He was so fun and so kind and loving. He loved his mother and he was a great model for other Indian men. He was a very good man. My heart is heavy and I send my condolences to his wonderful family. You were truely blessed with his life in yours. He will always be a brother to me. God bless you all. Our faith keeps us strong as Indian people. Respectfully, Theresa Elisoff and husband Jeff Elisoff

I remember Julian back in the day when my Mom worked for Indian Ed, I'm very sorry for your loss, he is leaving a memorable foot print on earth, we can Thank the Lord for that.

Julian was my main contact person when I cared for his mother Alyce. He was always kind, thoughtful, intelligent and at appropriate times, very funny. The entire Argel family is very dear to my heart. Alyce was one of my most memorable hospice patients, partly because of who she was, and partly because her entire family was so very special. I have had ties with some of you for years!

I will be out of town for Julian's service, and am sorry I won't be able to be there with you.

Blessings to you all during these very sad times.

With love, Debbie MacDonald

Julian was such a fan of the music of our youth. I would post a song on my FB page and Julian would say: "I saw them perform several times." Or "I remember seeing them at the Paramount, or Key Arena, or the King Dome." We would share our memories and love for many artists. I would ask him: "Who haven't you seen in concert, Julian?" and we would "lol" each other. I never knew that he wasn't well, so his loss is such a shock. I will now miss our discussions, his humor and friendship. May you rest in peace, Julian. Enjoy the music, my friend.
