A remembrance...
Dear sweet "Quinnie" (my nickname for you still sticks)
I found out about your passing away on Thursday, January 21st. On the first night after that news, I placed one of my favorite pictures of you (and some of us gals) right near my favorite reading chair. I then lit a little candle so it would shine on the picture. I have looked at your face and smiled many, many times in the past few days as I reminisce about the good and special times we have shared over the past 50 plus years. I will never forget the first time I met you. There you were this little "spit-fire" of a gal with the cutest face, and the absolute most perfect little "fluff" of a hair do that I had ever seen.......AND THE BEST LAUGH I HAD EVER HEARD!!!!
I remember feeling like a million dollars if I could just get you to laugh at something I did or said. I have actually told friends from here in Southern Cali about your spectacular, wonderful, fun, giggly, squeaky, laugh. I remember making you laugh so hard one time that your nose crinkled up until it turned white, and you had big tears running down your eyes, and I recall that you even tried biting the back of your hand to try and stop yourself from the hysteria....oh what a terrific laugh...never loud, just adorably fun!!
The last time I had the pleasure of being with you was at one of our yearly "Bellevue High School Beauties of '67" gatherings up there. You agreed to come by and pick me up in Tacoma at my daughter's house. You pulled up to get me, and there you were, my tiny little doll of a friend, in a great big, gigantic, black SUV. You handled that thing like you were a "Jockey on a world class race horse"!....... I was truly impressed!!
This may sound strange "Quinnie", but I am so glad that you left so peacefully sitting right their in your chair.... however, I am so sad that you left so soon. We will all miss you as long as we are here on this earth. We will all cherish each of our own special moments with you often, and especially on our yearly re-unions.
I will always remember the excitement and fun of being a cheerleader with you at good old BHS and the extreme winning, yelling, cheering and screaming for our teams. The memory of your laugh will always make me smile and be delighted to have ever known you.
RIP Marilyn

Growing up in Vuecrest together, we shared lots of fun times. Whenever we had an opportunity to reconnect, it was like we had never been apart. Rest in peace my dear friend. I will miss your wonderful smile and laugh.

What to say about a friend who has died? A friend of your heart, whenever you reconnected you just knew that they were your soul friend. I mourn the passing of this friend. I regret that we didn't have more time to smile, laugh and grow old together.
Our friend Marilyn Quinn McBride was a remarkable woman, wife, mother, sister and friend.
She was a sparkly, bright glow with a wonderful laugh. I will miss her.
