Patricia Ella Bowers

Patricia Ella Bowers Patricia Ella Bowers, born February 4, 1924 to Erxine and Garrett Bayle in Creston, British Columbia, passed away May 7, 2011 at her home in Dupont, Washington. Patricia became an American citizen with the naturalization of her parents after moving to Yakima, Washington. While attending Washington State University she met Curtis Bowers and they married shortly after her graduation in 1946. Patricia taught in Pullman School District for three years before starting a family. Her devotion to family left a legacy of love. She thrived as a mother and wife, creating a home for her family while showcasing her talent in sewing, gardening, knitting, baking, and making stained glass. Always concerned about social justice, Patricia studied history, politics, and current events her entire life. She taught her children the joy of learning. Patricia leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Curtis Bowers; three children, Kelly Bowers (John Wagner), Patty Bowers, and Gwen Gilchrist (Gary Gilchrist); three grandchildren, Nicholas Gilchrist (Laura), Ann-Marie Whitfield (Joshua), and Brittney Murray (Eric Lively); and one great-grandchild, Maleah Murray; along with many nieces and nephews. Patricia was preceded in death by her brother, William Bayle, and her sister, Doris Peters.
