I first met Pat and his wonderful wife Nancy in 1965 while we attended Sacramento State University. We became best of friends and remained so until his untimely passing. He was a wonderful man who you could always count on. He was an outstanding dedicated Special Agent who always went above and beyond in his investigations. He was highly respected by all who knew and worked with him.
I had the honor of having Pat as my training partner in Clandestine Laboratory Investigations for over 12 years through out the US after he retired in 1995. He was the most knowledgeable person I ever met when it came to investigating and handling Clandestine Laboratories. He was an outstanding instructor highly respected by all the officers he trained.
I miss all the wonderful times we had together.
My condolences again to Pat’s family and his wife Nancy.
Rest In Peace my dear friend!

The good Lord blessed me by giving me the greatest friend and brother a brother could have. Pat made this world a better place for all of us. He picked me up by the seat of my football pants when I wanted to quit and made me finish wind sprints at Amos Alonzo Stagg High School. I know he watches over my son who is a LAPD Officer and keeps him safe.

I had forgotten when I posted earlier. In 1987 I flew Pat, Marcus, and some other agents up to Tsuniah Lake, British Columbia on a fishing trip. We had a great time on a venture I will always remember.

My prayers and condolences to Nancy and the Gregory family and friends. I had the pleasure of working with Pat at the Sacramento Resident Office of the DEA and I have never met a finer, more experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated DEA Special Agent. Many times I relied on his highly valued advice and expertise on major drug investigations. His legacy of starting the Sacramento Clandestine Laboratory Task Force and Clandestine Laboratory Investigations in general throughout DEA and state and local drug law enforcement will not be forgotten.
God Bless

What a sad day it is to realize that a man with the integrity and honesty as Pat has passed away!!! I have known Pat from early on in our career from San Francisco, to San Diego and Sacramento. I have many memories of solving world problems, job problems, and discussing religion with Pat. All of us who are joined in commonality as present or past DEA agents, or simply as acquaintances, have lost a very nice friend. Nancy, I am so sorry for your loss. We all mourn with you and your family.

I met Pat more than 30 years ago while I was stationed in San Francisco. I was impressed with his knowledge and willingness to serve and to teach a young curious agent. We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I was very saddened to hear of Pat's passing. I worked with him many times in the Seattle area when I was a detective with the WSP. He was always a great person. I know he will be greatly missed by his family and all of us who had the pleasure of working with him

My deepest condolences to the Gregory family.

I worked with Pat in San Diego office 1974-80. Pat was a relentless investigator, and he did so while keeping a sense of humor and easily making friendships with his co-workers - a really good guy.

I was blessed to have a brother who was my sentinel and guardian angel. He protected me in the school yard and taught me right from wrong as did my parents. In our old Italian neighborhood, around Genova Bakery, Pat was our leader and often protected us from others. To the kids in our neighborhood, he was our leader who taught us to be honest and to respect others. He also taught us never to give up and when your down get up and finish the task. Pat was a humble warrior but when pushed would take you on and make a better person of you. Love you Brother

TO NANCY AND FAMILY:

I first met Pat in San Jose, CA when he did background investigations for the DOD in the late 1960s and then the CA DOJ prior to joining DEA . He was introduced to me by the late Dick Welby of Hughes Aircraft Corporate Security, a longtime friend to many. Through him I joined DEA as the first analyst in San Diego DO (1973), when it was part of the Los Angeles Region. I visited at your home in Del Mar on a few occasions. I loved Pat as a friend and co-worker, one of the very best of the men I have known in forty-five years of law enforcement. My sincere and deep sympathies to you Nancy and to your children.

January 20, 2017

Pat's strength to me was his integrity and love of truth, which he always told bluntly and never backed down from or apologized for; his love of country and unshaken confidence in the law enforcement troops he worked with, his devotion to duty and his loyalty to his superiors and subordinates. Finally Pat was a brave warrior, braver I have not known, with a quality which makes men, who are not panicky at the thought of peril follow wherever he wanted to lead them.
On all occasions Pat's team of agents reflected Pat's highly competitive, aggressive and enthusiastic spirit. Pat was straight forward, cordial and a friend.

My Condolences to Nancy and family.
Pat transferred from the San Diego office to the Sacramento RO where I was the junior agent. It didn't take long to realize that when it came to narcotic enforcement, Pat, was a cut above the rest of us. What good times and memories of the office with the likes of Julius Beretta, Charlie Stowell, Bill Hardin, Dell Polish, Tony Loya and Ely Lopez.
Frank Gregory (Pat's father) was my patrol captain at Stockton PD.
May you rest in peace,Pat.

Will miss a great man who served his country for decades. The mark of a true leader is the respect he receives from the men/women who he supervised. Pat always earned that respect by being honest ,fair and straightforward.
I will miss Pat and may he Rest In Peace.

I am grieved by the passing of my friend, Pat Gregory, he was an exceptional mentor to the younger guys he supervised. He truly cared for the people under his stewardship and I will be forever grateful for his friendship. Your friends from the WSP Narcotics Section have always considered you as one of our closest brothers in our pursuit of justice. Thank you for sharing of your time and talents with those who hold you in the highest regard. Our prayers are with Nancy and your family at this time of sorrow and grief my friend. God bless you Pat.

Both my wife and I were DEA Agents in Sacramento and Seattle. We both have many stories about Pat and particularly remember that he was a rare man who took a strong stand when the right thing needed to be done. Pat also had many acts of kindness throughout his career where he went out of his way to help and mentor others. Truly he was one of the most respected law enforcement people from both within and outside DEA. It almost goes without mentioning, but he was a very skilled and hard working DEA Agent and all who encountered him understood that. After he was retired, I still sought him out in Gig Harbor since he was a foremost expert with methamphetamine labs. Thank you Pat for what you were and God Bless your family during this difficult time.

Pat and I graduated from Sacramento State University together and had been best friends since then. He was a wonderful man and an outstanding dedicated Agent who was trusted and respected by all who knew and worked with him. I was honored to have him as my training partner in Clan Lab Investigations for or 12 years. My sincere condolences to Nancy and family. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

Pat was a great supervisor who led by example when he was in the Seattle FD. He was well respected not only in DEA but also by his colleagues in Seattle PD.Vaya con Dios! Dave Rodriguez, former SAC, Seattle FD.

I met Pat the first time in 1987 when he conducted ClanLab training in Reno. We reconnected when I was the ClanLab Coordinator in Seattle and he was providing our recertification training as a contractor. He gave me a lot of good advice when I transferred to Seattle from Detroit and was a good friend. I think of him often.

Pat and I were both in the Marines and DEA. While we never served together in the Corps our DEA careers did crisscross several times and Pat was both a friend and colleague. The gates of heaven are now guarded by another fine Marine. I will remember Pat in my thoughts and prayers. With Sympathy, J. David Quilter

It was an honor to have known and worked with Pat at DEA Sacramento; he was the best of the best who pursued drug law enforcement as a career not as a job. His word was his bond and Pat was well recognized in the law enforcement community for the depth and quality of his many cases.

God's blessings to his family in this time of sorrow; may the warmth of his memory carry you through now and forever.
