Tacoma, Washington - Patsy (Paynter) Mitchell
Patsy Mitchell was born in Tacoma, WA October 6, 1945 to Bob and Betty Paynter. and passed away quietly on September 18th, 2020 at St. Joseph's Hospital with her family by her side. She battled for 4 years trying to recover from brain surgery to remove a large, benign tumor. Patsy graduated from Wilson High School in 1964. She worked for and retired from American Plywood Association in 2005 as their receptionist where she greeted all visitors with her friendly, outgoing personality and warm, welcoming smile. She was proud to be known as "the voice of APA". Her favorite pastimes were playing softball in her younger years, going to the casino, meeting friends for lunch and spending time with family at their cabin on Mason Lake. Patsy was a great cook and took pleasure in preparing delicious home-cooked meals for her family. She was a loyal fan of the Mariners and Seahawks and looked forward to cheering them on every game. Everyone who knew Patsy will long remember her as a loving, cheerful, kind person with a sharp wit and infectious smile.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Bob & Betty Paynter, and her older sister Linda Perry. She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Bob Mitchell, their son Robert, sister Ruth Dreyer, her identical twin sister Peggy Willis (John) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors and nurses in the ICU at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma.
Services will be held for family members on October 9th at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor. May Patsy rest in peace.

Today is the one month anniversary of Patsy's passing. As her identical twin, we shared most everything with each other throughout our lives. Our mother would often share stories about when Patsy & I were infants, how we communicated with each other using our own language, facial expressions and hand gestures nobody else could understand. Patsy and I always had an unexplainable connection with each other while we were growing up that continued into our adult lives. I am still a little lost without Patsy being here, and will always remember her as my younger twin (by 3 minutes). I love you, Patsy!
May you rest in peace! Peggy

She came 5 yrs ago to our Mother's 95th Birthday and Mom was so pleased to see her. Sending Prayers and Hugs to all of you, I know you will miss her terribly. Uncle Bob and Cousin Robert, May Patsy be wrapped in the love and peace. I hope the grieving softens and the wonderful memories strengthen. The memory of Aunt Patsy is when our family first got a video camera and i would go around family holiday get togethers and everyone who shew me away (even grandma Mitchell) but Aunt Patsy would put on a little show every time. I can see and hear her. All my love to you.

Patsy was a dear friend. We met years ago at APA where we both worked and had lots in common -- both of us had identical twin sisters, she and my youngest son shared Oct. 6 as their birthdays, and she and I were big fans of the Mariners and the Seahawks. We often talked on the phone as we watched Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune on our TVs, sometimes saying the correct answers before the contestants did, and sometimes not. I will forever remember and cherish her friendship. God Bless you Patsy.

Have known Patsy for many many years. Remember when she started at APA. Kept in touch with her throughout the years. Talked to her two to three times a week and had many lunches together with out APA Lunch Bunch. I am missing that precious voice, however, will see her again and join her at sitting at the feet of Jesus. Our conversations would always end with "I LOVE YOU"! Yes indeed Dear Patsy, I sure do!! "Forever Friends! JBug.

Happy 75th Birthday Patsy Watsy! This is the first time in 40 years that we won't be together for our celebration but you will be in my heart today & always. Our yearly plans to visit the casino for some fun on our birthday will have to wait. I will continue to cheer on the Hawks with our voices but can't promise the same for the Ms. Sorry. I want to thank Bob & Robert for the great care they have given you during your struggles over the past 4+ years. It just shows the strong love your family has for you. I know you are in a better place now and things are supposed to get better with time but today I don't feel whole and miss you so much! I am very proud to be your twin!
I love you Patsy!

Thank you, Patsy, for being an amazing sister and sister-in-law. We're thankful to have so many wonderful memories of getting together for our annual New Years Eve feasts, Trivial Pursuit, Mexican Train Dominoes, Pictionary, good times at the lake, and fishing on “kokanee row”. You will always remain in our hearts. Be sure to reserve a spot up there for us. Rest in peace, Patsy, we love you!!!

Bob & Peggy and Family. I'm so sorry about your loss. I knew Pasty & Peggy for many years going back to high school. I've always have
had fond memories of the whole family. The twins always gave
me positive support whenever I asked their input in life. Pasty was
very funny and had great wit. I've known Bob since high school also
and to me he was a great friend. We played sports together for many
years and I enjoyed being around (Apple). Patsy rest in Peace and
Bob you did a tremendous job taking care of Pasty.
