Richard Fitzer Sr.
October 24, 1946 - November 15, 2021
Tacoma, Washington - Richard Lee Fitzer Sr., 75, of Tacoma, passed away on 11/15/21 from COVID-19. He was preceded by father, Harold and mother, Lois. He is survived by his children, Brenda Crouthamel and Richard Fitzer Jr., and his grandchildren, Josiah and Claire. Richard was born in Morton, WA in Oct 1946. He was raised in Elbe, WA on his family's ranch with his two brothers, Thomas and Steven. He graduated from Eatonville High School and served in the USAF overseas during Vietnam. Afterward he moved to Tacoma where he raised his children and worked as a logger. Richard enjoyed a lifelong love for mechanics and aviation. He built and repaired cars, motorcycles, ATV's, heavy machinery, and at one point, owned and piloted a plane. He is known for being a very generous and loyal friend.
Memorial services for Richard will be held at Central Lutheran Church in Tacoma, WA on December 4, 2021 at 1:00pm.
