Lacey, Washington - Robert John Denney, of Lacey, Washington, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024, at the age of 85. Robert (Bob) was born on July 28, 1938, in Seattle, Washington, the son of Robert John Denney and Marjorie Campbell Denney. He was raised in Seattle and Tacoma, graduating from Stadium High School and the University of Washington, where he studied business. Bob served in the US Air Force - Air National Guard. He excelled in the Wholesale Floral Industry and was a partner at Evergreen Wholesale Florists, where he was appreciated for his salesmanship and sharp wit. Bob married Patricia Swanson, and they had three children. Later, he married Shirley Sefrit, living in Bellevue, Tacoma, and Arizona. He held Sonics and Husky football season tickets for years, learned to golf at age 70, and was an avid tennis player. Survived by his children Kristen Denney, Kimberly Denney, and Jeffrey (Laurie) Denney, and their mother; step-children Scott (Neena) Sefrit, Linda (Tim) Molenaar, and Amy (Mike) Richards; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and brother Larry (Neena) Denney. Bob is remembered most for his love of sports, boating, sense of humor, and calm demeanor. Details for a celebration of Bob's life are currently being arranged and will be announced.
