Bob and I first met at Luke AFB in 1970 or 1971. I was a supply airman in the Civil Engineering Squadron and Bob was a fireman. For about 1 year we moved off-base to nearby Tolleson with another airman named Bill Regan. The apartment manager was a staff sergeant plumber from my squadron. Bob was indeed very helpful in maintaining/fixing this very un-mechanically inclined airman's car at little or no cost to me.
Bob has been a good friend for these 45 years and was the only former service member I have kept in contact all these years and have mutually occasionally visited. I remember once hiking the Superstitions with Bob, who ran circles around me.
Bob has now exchanged his Air Force wings for angel's. He was truly a selfless man here, a good sport with good sense of humor. R.I.P Bob.
