Robin Congdon Obituary
November 1, 1943 - June 1, 2025
Spokane, Washington - Robin Marie Congdon passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, with her family by her side. Born and raised in Tacoma, WA, Robin was the daughter of Russell and Arleyne Ross. She attended Annie Wright Seminary, Bethel High School, and WSU, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi. A career in travel moved her to New York City and took her around the world. She married Gary in 1967, and they spent their early years in Southern California, where they welcomed two daughters. When they moved to Spokane, they bought a historic farm where they raised show horses. Robin loved horses and was a lifetime equestrian competitor across many disciplines. As a young girl and teenager, she enjoyed riding her horses through Point Defiance Park, at Woodbrook Hunt Club, and the Tacoma Unit. In addition to riding horses, Robin enjoyed snow skiing and boating on local lakes and the Puget Sound. She was a loving wife, mom, and grandma full of grace and humility, and will be dearly missed. Robin was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Gary. She is survived by her daughters, Michelle (Blane) Hezel and Julie (Steve) Taube; grandchildren Caleb Taube, Mikayla, and Karyna Hezel; sister Lynda (Mike) Leffel; nephew Jim (Diane) Leffel, and nieces Lisa (David) Oberg and Amy (Chris) Jenness. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Roberta (Doug) Campbell, nieces Leslie (Ian) Tubbs and Barbara (Mickey Whitaker) Frank, and sister-in-law Marcia Eaton.
A memorial will be held at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church on Sunday, August 3, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Washington State Horse Park.
