I just saw this as I had not heard from Sandy for a long time but I know he had a lot of health issues but was stoical. I used to love speaking to him from the UK on the phone. I am sorry I was not closer to him and as a carer for a friend with complex needs I was busy. I met Jean and Sandy when I was a teenager working as a room made in the Selsdon Park Hotel, Croydon in England when both were over for Wimbledon. I met them in Glasgow and London after that. I will share happy memories of both.

Wow, so Sandy was 99, my Aunt is 100 so that is a big accomplishment and I´m sure Sandy was a wonderful influence all those years. I met Sandy while I was a member of the Tacoma Kiwanis Club. He always had a welcoming face and we all enjoyed his presence whenever we got together. He will be missed by all who know him and I send my condolences to the family.

My uncle Sando lived life to the fullest and had no regrets-one of the many qualities I admired most about him. He will be deeply missed and always remembered.

I am 82 and Mr. Mazzei was a favorite teacher of mine at Jason Lee Junior High. I have always remembered him, though he never knew that. I went on to get college degree, teach, and become a principal. It looks like I enjoyed a similar career to his.
I send my wishes to family that they can treasure the wonderful times with him.

Sandy was my wonderful neighbor who I will always miss. He was loved by all at Tacoma Terrance.
When I first met him he gently
talked about running out of hot water, he later mention it again. I couldn't imagine why he did until one day seeing a new friend's apt I realized why. She had no hot water tank & I did! Sandy & I were sharing mine! This gentleman
Never accused me, or said a cross word to me. He was truly a gentle man. Yes, I tried to adjust my use of hot water. I will miss are talks, texts & cards we shared.

I considered Mr. Mazzei one of the "good guys" on the staff of both Jason Lee and Stadium. I was a bit of a challenge to many of my teachers but Mr. Mazzei was supportive and on one occasion helped me through a difficult time.

My dad, Gene Tone, worked with Sandy for many years at Central in the Tacoma School District and he loved working with him. I met Sandy about 4 years ago and immediately felt the quiet charisma and kindness that it sounds like he showed to everyone. I was very lucky to have known him. The world was a better place with him in it.

Sandy was my greatest fan in my 36 years as an educator in the Tacoma Schools. He encouraged me as a teacher and was my supervisor during my time as a Principal at Lincoln.

Sandy was a wonderful friend to me and other educators.

The students were his main focus because he wanted all students to have a good school experience.

Thank you Mr. Mazzei for your friendship and support.
