SCOTT MATTHEW Obituary

Scott Andrew Matthew Scott, at the age of 58, died of a heart attack on Feb. 23, 2018. Scott is survived by his wife Krista J. Matthew, two daughters, Molly K. Matthew and Madison B. Matthew, and older brother Ron Matthew, as well as mother-in-law Nancy Wallrof, father-in-law Paul Wallrof, and his sisters-in-law Lisa Blair and Jena Langston. He was preceded in death by his parents Glen and Mary Ann Matthew, as well as his siblings Mike, Pam, Deb, and Robb Matthew. He was born on Dec. 30, 1959 to Glen and Mary Ann Matthew in Tacoma, WA. He was a Tacoma native, and went to Narrows View Elementary and Curtis Jr. High School, and graduated from Curtis High School in 1978. Scott and brothers Ron and Robb were local business owners of VanCourt Matthew Overhead Door since 1991, which has been in the family since 1954. Scott was a great family man, hard worker, and loving father. He married Krista on Aug. 15, 1987, and had his two children, Molly and Madison. Scott was a socially active businessman, involved in TEA (Tacoma Executive Association), where he served on the board; he also enjoyed golfing, bowling, and softball, where he earned his nickname "beamer." He loved fishing and WSU football, as well as home UW games with Paul "Wally" Wallrof. His family and friends will always remember Scott for his laugh and loving nature. A Celebration of Scott's Life will be held 1PM, Sun., March 11, 2018, in the Aspen Chapel, with a reception to follow at Mountain View Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Lakewood, WA.
