Sheila Foster Obituary

SHEILA DIANE FOSTER July 31, 1955 - October 20, 2008 Sheila Diane Foster was called home suddenly by her Savior Jesus Christ during a very courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Gadsden, AL to Mildred Elizabeth Miller (nee Perkins) and Elmo Mitchell Miller. Mildred divorced Elmo during Sheila's childhood and then married Howard Adams. Howard was a devoted husband and father until his passing in 2001. She graduated from Pacific High School, Pacific, MO in 1973, Sumner Business College of St. Louis, MO, and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia. She loved activities with her family and particularly enjoyed scrap booking, gardening, genealogy, and travel. She was the loving wife of Kevin Foster for 33 years; mother of Benjamin and Adam Foster; sister of James (Tonga) Miller, Clyde (Jerri) Miller, Howard J. (Patricia) Adams, and Janice (Steve) Rubelmann. A Memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, 1:00 PM at Weeks' Dryer Mortuary. Memorial gifts may be sent to the National Right to Life, 512 10th St. NW, Washington, DC 20004, 202-626-8800, or to the American Life League. Please sign her guest book at dryermortuary.com

Hello. I will always remember how Diane said that she wanted daughters and that we would be like her daughters when we visited. So she would spend time with us girls to see what it would be like. I also remember when I was a kid she sent us the movie 'Look Who's Talking'. I was sure she was gonna give us the sequel the next year but she never did. It's all good, tho, cuz that one was not very good. lol

I enjoyed her sense of humor and honesty. She was a wonderful person. She had a great love for her family. I never met her in person, but enjoyed "knowing" her through twopeas message board. Her family is in my prayers.

Mike and boys, my name is Priscilla Snyder and Dianne was my cousin. My Mother and hers were sisters. I haven't seen Dianne since she was small but I keep in touch with Jan and I asked about her often. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your boys. Know that she is happy to be with her Mom.

I have known Diane since High School and still can't believe she is gone. It's so easy to take life and friends for granted, never expecting them to be taken away so suddenly. She was a wonderful friend that no matter how long between our phone calls, it was always like we spoke the day before. Words cannot express the sadness I feel, but like my son told me, it's not 'goodbye', but 'see you later'. I know she is at peace now and look forward to the day I will see her again. My prayers are with her family during this very difficult time.
