July 8, 1936 - April 8, 2023
Lakewood, Washington - Thomas Arnie Gilmer passed away April 8, 2023. He attended school in Federal Way and graduated from Pacific Lutheran University. He is survived by his wife Linda and children Gary (Linda), Katrina (Jeff), Karin (Craig), Greg (Jeannine), 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Lakewood, Wa. on Saturday, May 6th at 1:00.

Ahhh......I remember him well. Frequently, when a geometry student would complain about "too much homework", "this is too hard", or something of that nature, he would look that student in the eye, tap his chest over his heart and say "it gets me right here"...with a big smile. I never forgot that, and I used it on my Army troops, always prefacing my statement with "as my old math teacher Mr. Gilmer used to say".
Rest well, Tom, you were a helluva guy!
