Todd Brown Obituary

Todd David Brown 1964-2006 Todd Brown, a loving and devoted son, brother, uncle and friend passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at the age of 41. Born May 7th, 1964, Todd grew up with his family in Sumner and spent many of his summers on Vashon Island at "the beach". After graduating from Sumner High School, Todd attended Washington State University where he received his Bachelor of Arts in communications from WSU. Todd's sense of adventure was reflected in everything he did. A consummate salesman, he threw himself whole-heartedly into every aspect of his life and work. The last several years of Todd's life were spent working for Burien and Auburn Nissan as a salesman and Finance Manager. He had a wide range of skills and interests and packed a lifetime of laughs and adventure into his short 41 years. An avid golfer, skier, boater and Coug fan, Todd was happiest in the company of his many wonderful friends and family members and was a constant source of amusement for all who knew him. If at the end of one's life a persons' worth is measured not by the material possessions that one owns, but by the quality and caliber of his friends, Todd would be considered a giant among men. He will be deeply missed by those who had the great fortune to love, laugh and live in the presence of Todd. He was preceded in death by his parents Stew and Sharon Brown (Sumner). He is survived by his sister Erin Crelling (Tacoma) and family, his brother Kevin Brown (Sumner) and family, his sister Stacy Carkonen (Vashon) and family, Margie McGinnis (Vashon), his aunt and uncle Susie and Doug Brown (Kennewick) and cousins Roland, Eline and Kristin. Memorial service to be held on Monday, January 16th, 2pm at the Sumner Presbyterian Church. Donations can be made in Todd's name to the Stew Brown Scholarship Fund, WSU Athletic Foundation, PO Box 641602, Pullman WA 99164-1602

We cannot believe that the light that shone from Todd's face is gone from this earth. We have known Todd since his birth. The Browns have been our closest friends for over 50 years. Todd will always be that adorable little boy that could get into trouble at the drop of a hat. He, his Mom and Dad must be having a great family reunion. God bless them and the brother and sisters that he left behind.

Todd Brown – synonymous with good times, genuine friend, charismatic, laughter and infectious smile. So many memories, so many stories. Anyone who has ever met Todd, certainly has a story to tell – and now a memory to cherish.

We can all take perverse consolation in knowing that, between Stew and Todd, it’s only a matter of time before the heavens will be replacing Amazing Grace with the Cougar Fight Song and serving beer upon entry at the pearly gates. What a privilege it is to have known Todd and an even bigger privilege to say he was our friend.
