Bobby Alan Scales

Bobby Alan Scales, 69, of Seymour, passed away on October 29, 2025, in Indianapolis. He was born on February 4, 1956, in Indianapolis to John W. Scales Sr. and Mary Catherine Myers Scales.

Bobby lived in Seymour his entire life and graduated from Seymour High School, Class of 1975. He worked at Aisin USA for 23 years before retiring in 2024. He loved anything Mopar, old muscle cars, fishing, and watching basketball and football. For years, you could find him at the bowling alley in Seymour, bowling in leagues. His greatest love in life was his family-especially his grandkids. He was all about them.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, John W. Scales Jr.; and his granddaughter, Jannessa Ikerd.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 50 years, Robin Scales; his children, Mark (Madeline) Scales of Seymour, Indiana, Erin (Lee) Ikerd of Williams, Indiana, and Amy Stewart of Louisville, Kentucky; his brother, Michael Scales; his sisters, Elizabeth Scales and Janie (Phil) Broadnax; as well as six grandchildren: Jalen (Victoria Dunno) Scales, Jayvin Ikerd, Madisyn Scales, Kendall Scales, Brendyn Scales, and Toni Moore; and two great-grandchildren, Victoria Evans and James Evans. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Kim Mellencamp and Janine VonDielingen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may gather from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Voss and Sons Funeral and Cremation Service, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour. Bobby will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery.
