Everett Theodore George Duwe, age 91, of Seymour, passed away peacefully late Wednesday evening, April 2, 2025, on the family farm.
Mr. Duwe was baptized into Christ at St. John's Lutheran Church in Sauers on October 30, 1933. Following his marriage to his wife, Elvera, he became an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Seymour, where he served as an Elder.
Farming was of great importance and a significant part of Mr. Duwe's life. He worked alongside his father and brother for many years raising and harvesting crops. On March 21, 2025, Everett and his wife were honored with the Homestead Award in recognition of 137 dedicated years of farming on the family homestead.
Born on October 28, 1933, at his home on the family farm, Everett was the son of William and Clara (Surenkamp) Duwe, both of whom preceded him in death. On April 21, 1968, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour, he married Elvera Jane Tormoehlen, and she survives in Seymour.
Survivors also include nieces and nephews: Donald E. (Carrie) Wetzel, Jr., Lisa Wetzel (Alan) Lewis, Teresa Wetzel (John) Sowders, Debra Wetzel (Daniel) Teel, Steven J. (Rhonda) Wetzel, Rhonda Duwe (Gary) Wessel, Janis Duwe (Greg) Surenkamp, Clara Duwe (Billy) Bauserman, and Sara Duwe Cain; brother-in-law, William "Bill" Hendren; several great-nieces and great-nephews; and several great-great nieces and great-great nephews.
Mr. Duwe was also preceded in death by one brother, John (Thelma) Duwe; two sisters: Frances Duwe (Raymond) Darlage, and Loreda Duwe Hendren.
Funeral services for Everett Theodore George Duwe will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Seymour.
Interment will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Seymour.
Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, St. John's Lutheran Church, Sauers Cemetery Fund, or Schneck Medical Center Hospice.
