Nicholas Barber Obituary
Nick was born January 23, 1979, in Columbus, the son of Jerry R. and Theresa "Terrie" (Buell) Barber.
Nick was a 1997 graduate of Jennings County High School. He worked as a painter for Biehle Electric in North Vernon, and had previously worked for North Vernon Beverage, Erich K Collison and for his dad at Bob and Joe's Body Shop. Nick was a member of AMA (American Motorcycle Association). He enjoyed being outdoors, collecting rock, and riding anything with two wheels, whether it be mountain biking or motocross. Nick especially loved spending time with his kids.
Nick is survived by his parents, Jerry and Terrie Barber of North Vernon; his children, Xavier Hoyt Barber and Charli Sophia Barber, both of North Vernon; His companion, Maria Clark and her children, Brody and Evah Snyder, all of North Vernon; and his grandparents, Bob and Janet Barber, of North Vernon.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Dulcinea Lea "Dulcie" Barber and grandparents, Bobbie and Winnie Buell.
A funeral service for Nick will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon with John Clark officiating. The visitation for family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. The Burial will follow in the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through the funeral home in honor of Nick to SIMBA (Southeast Indiana Mountain Bike Association: bikesimba.org or Friends of Muscatatuck River.
