R. Danny Eglen

Mr. R. Danny Eglen, 74 of Brownstown passed away Saturday May 15, 2021, very unexpectedly at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Danny was born in Seymour the son of the late Richard C. and Norma Jean (Nay) Eglen on July 27, 1946.

On September 8, 2001 he married the love of his life and best friend Laura Ann White Delph.

Danny served his country in the United States Army during 1966 through 1968. He then went to work at the Seymour Armory for 20 plus years in maintenance. After that Danny went to work for the city of Seymour and retired after 6 years.

Danny attended the Freetown Apostolic Pentecostal Church with his wife. In his lifetime he had several dogs he loved. He loved taking care of his flowers, enjoyed woodworking, craft projects, but most of all he loved seeing and going to the grandkid's activities. Danny was a caring man who was incredibly quiet and smiled often around family and friends.

He is survived by his wife Laura, children Scott Eglen, Mya Eglen, stepson Aaron (Mindi) Delph, and siblings James (Mary) Eglen, Linda (Doug) Rose, and mother-in-law Eva Jane White. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

Danny is preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may gather at Voss and Sons Funeral Service on Tuesday, May 18th from 4 to 7 p.m. and Wednesday after 12 noon until time of service.

Funeral service will be Wednesday, May 19, 1:30 p.m. at Voss Chapel with Rev. Tim Brown and Rev. Ben McCory Officiating.

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with full military graveside honors provided by the V.F.W. Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, D.A.V., Korean and Vietnam War Veterans all of Seymour.

Family request memorials to be designated to the Freetown Apostolic Pentecostal Church.

Masks are required before admittance to the funeral home as well as social distancing within the building.
