Robert Moorman Obituary

Robert E. Moorman, 92, of Jonesville affectionately known as "Bob" or "Bobby" to his friends and loved ones, passed from this life on June 8, 2025, at 12:47 p.m. at Autumn Trace in Seymour.

Born on February 18, 1933, in Bartholomew County, Indiana, the son of Omer Henry and Virginia Ruby (Pyatt) Moorman. Bob lived a life marked by devotion to his family, service to his country, and commitment to hard work.

Bob found the love of his life, Elda L. Fisse, and they were united in marriage on April 18, 1959, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Jonesville. This union was blessed with unwavering love and partnership that flourished over 66 beautiful years.

He is survived by his wife Elda L. Moorman of Jonesville; his children, Brenda (Denny Loh) Cox of Columbus and Myron (Cindy) Moorman of Columbus. He leaves behind a legacy of love and guidance through his cherished grandchildren Joshua (Sadie) Cox, Ashley (Zach) Kimmel, Rebekah (Tanner) Case, Seth (Emily) Moorman, Jamie (Michelle) Sneed, Sarah (Max) Joyner, and Christy Smith. His joy was further multiplied by his great grandchildren, Royal Moorman, August Moorman, Charlotte Moorman, Margaret Moorman, Valor Moorman, Colton Cox, Owen Cox, Zoey Kimmel, Savannah Case, Briar Case, Callum Case, Lane Smith, Winnie Smith, Doc Smith, James Sneed, Jordan Sneed, Olivia Bricker, Sebastian Guillen, Ava Sneed, Leila King, Leo King, and Ellie Joyner.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Bob served his country with honor in the United States Air Force Reserves and the Air Force. His dedication to duty laid the foundation for a lifetime of hard work across various industries, including Rust Construction, Columbus Gravel / D & J Excavating, Contractors United Incorporated (CUI), various positions for the Local 181 Operators Union, and Milestone Construction. Even after retirement, Bob kept active, channeling his expertise into roles at Touchdown Lures, Burbrink Farms, and Advanced Mold & Engineering (AME), where he earned the title of "Janitorial Engineer."

Bob's happy places were found in the serenity of nature, camping beside a lake or casting a line in quiet anticipation of the catch of the day. His loving and kind spirit was a beacon of warmth and comfort to all who knew him. He was the consummate family man, friend, and neighbor, ever ready with a helping hand or a word of encouragement. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Operating Engineer's Union 181, honorary member of FOP. For many years he took care of St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery and also served as an Elder and Trustee at the church. He also served on the Jonesville Volunteer Fire Department.

Loved by many, missed by all, the memory of Robert "Bob" Moorman will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have felt the touch of his gentle yet formidable presence. His light, though no longer with us in body, will live on in the countless lives he's shaped, the community he's served, and the environment he so loved and protected.
