Ronald Savonen Obituary
Born June 23, 1951, in Hamilton, Ohio, he was the son of Carl Lewis and Rose Bernadine Weisser Savonen, both of whom preceded him in death.
He graduated from Seymour High School in 1969 and was employed by the Indiana Department of Transportation for more than 36 years, retiring July 31, 2006. He loved to play golf and was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include his daughter, Traci (Chad) DeBord; four grandchildren, Jordan Peters, Dylan Peters, Cameron DeBord and Colten DeBord; six brothers, Jim, Dave, Marvin and Don Bowling, and Frank and Will Clark; a sister, Lawana Cleaver; and his birth mother, Mildred Jean Clark.
The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Blomenberg officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the donor's choice of charity.

A true friend in every meaning of the words you can imagine. Not just to me, but I believe with each of you he touched. 31 years of hanging out with Ron will never be forgot! Friends hanging out golfing, EVERY weekend for 28 years, contain some of our most memorable times. A friendship could not be any better than the one us golf buddies have with each other after so many weekends and years together. Ron was who I'd call, when I needed a friend's advice or a shoulder to lean on. What a great man! What a friend! I have a huge whole in my heart by the loss of this Friend.
