Steven Kriete Obituary

L. Steven Kriete, 78, passed away Thursday evening, October 23, 2025. He was a lifelong resident of Seymour.

He was born April 24, 1947 in Seymour to Carl Kriete, Sr and Mildred M. Donnells. He married Teresa K. Gerth on October 7, 1967 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour. Survivors include his wife, Teresa K. Kriete of Seymour; son, Darin S. (Monica) Kriete; daughter, Amy (James) Boyt of Seymour; two sisters, Connie Gerth of Seymour; and Clara Winslow of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren, Jacob Kriete, Benjamin Kriete, Jackson (Bri) Boyt, and Abby Boyt.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Everett Kriete, and Carl Kriete, Jr.; and two sisters, Linda Greene and Bonnie Cox.

He was in Quality Control at Schwartz Pharma for 34 years.

Steve was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church, and the Jonesville Bass Club. He was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed playing the guitar. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will take place from 4-7PM, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at Voss & Sons Funeral and Cremation Services, 316 N. Chestnut Street, Seymour, and from 11-12 Noon Wednesday, October 29, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 325 S. Chestnut Street, Seymour. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12 Noon at the church. He will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery, Seymour.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Boys and Girls Club, 950 N. O'Brien Street, Seymour, IN 47274.
